More Info
ABCD 4-Man Shamble Registration will be open until 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 17th. Tournaments is a shotgun start at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 23rd. Lunch will be served following the round.
Shamble Rules: CCMGA Shamble Rule Sheet
1. All players tee off (Pick & Shovel tees) and the team chooses the best tee shot.
2. Players will play their own ball from the selected tee shot. All balls including the ball selected may be played within one club length of the balls original position, but not closer to the hole on Tee shots only. The lie conditions may NOT be improved. (for example a ball in a bunker, penalty area, or rough, must be played from the bunker, penalty area or rough.)
3. Each player will then play his own ball from that location until the ball is holed.
4. Tee shots coming to rest on the green must be played from no more than 6" from the original spot, no closer to the hole.
5. Must use at least three (3) tee shots from each player.
6. The best three (3) net scores on each hole will be counted. You only have to record gross scores on your scorecard. The three (3) best net score will be automatically computed when entered into the Golf Genius mobile app and will be checked following the round.
7. Handicap allowance will be 80% - as marked on scorecards.
8. A player may pick up when the team score on a hole cannot be improved. This is for pace of play.
Skins: There is a team skin game. A skin is defined as the lowest three (3) total best ball net score on a hole (no ties, no carry overs).
Closest to the Pin: Two closest to the pin contests will be held.
Pace of Play: Since this is a shotgun start, please keep up with the group in front of you.
Note: If for some reason you do not have four players you still follow the same rules. A blind player will be picked by the system to complete your foursome. One member of each foursome should enter scores on the printed cards and in the mobile scoring app. |

More Info
2-MAN BEST BALL RULES Registration will be open until 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 31st. Tournament tee times begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6th.
Best Ball Rules:
1. Entry fee which covers the prize money, skins, closest to the pin and hole-in-one fund.
2. All players shall play from the Pick & Shovel tees or Coal Car tees. Coal Car tees may be played if your combined age plus handicap is 75 or more. You must declare the tee you will be playing at registration. USGA Rule 3.5 will be in effect. If you elect to play from the Coal Car tees, three (3) strokes will be deducted from your course handicap due to the difference in the course rating between the tees. In addition, your handicap will also reflect the slope rating which may result in an additional adjustment depending on your GHIN index.
3. Each player plays his own ball. The team score for a given hole is the best net score (gross score minus any pops marked on the scorecard). If you are out of a hole and elect to pick-up, mark your estimated score followed by an “X”. For example, if you have a meaningless putt left, you may pick it up and either count it as one stroke (if it was close) or two strokes. Be honest-- this is encouraged to speed up play!
4. Swap scorecards with the other team on your first tee. One player in each foursome should also enter the foursome scores in the Golf Genius mobile app. Before turning in the scorecard, fill it in completely! Record each player’s gross hole scores. Also circle the score used for the best ball and record the best ball net score. Add up both nine hole scores, 18 hole scores, gross and net scores for both players. Also, add up your best ball score. Be sure your card is signed by the playing partner who kept the score and attested by a member of your team.
HANDICAPS: Each player receives 90% of his actual course handicap, as adjusted per Rule 3.5, if applicable. The higher handicap player’s course handicap is capped at eight strokes above his teammate. For example, if player A’s course handicap is 6 and player B’s course handicap is 17, player B will have his course handicap reduced to 14. Any player not having a handicap or a trend will play at scratch.
TEAM SKINS: Each day will have a Skins game. A skin is defined as the best net team score on a hole (no ties or carryovers). The pot is divided equally between the outright winners.
CLOSEST TO THE PIN: Two closest to the pin contests will be held. This is an individual event.
SLOW PLAY PENALTY IS IN EFFECT! Foursomes finishing in more than 4 hrs. 30 min. or more than 15 min. behind the group in front will be assessed a 2 stroke penalty per team. Each scorecard will have 4 hrs and 30 min pace of play shown on the card. Please keep up with the group in front of you. The 2019 USGA rule changes should speed up pace of play. |
